Small Golden Ring tour

Small Tour of Golden Ring from Moscow

The Golden Ring is a chain of small ancient towns located North-East of Moscow and famous for forming a ring. You will be traveling on one of the oldest and most popular tourist routes through the Russian provinces. All towns along the way were built between the eleventh and seventeenth centuries and are often referred to as 'the museums under an open sky.

During this tour you will view many unique monuments of Russian architecture and observe life within Russian provinces, which, as in past centuries, remains unhurried and calm.

There has been a big debate which cities are included within Russia’s Golden Ring. Therefore the Soviets made an official list with Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vladimir and Suzdal.

Although each Golden Ring city has its own charms, the architecture is somewhat similar. Therefore it would not make sense to include all of the Golden Ring cities in your Golden ring itinerary.

Our Small Golden Ring itinerary includes the cities of Vladimir, Suzdal, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Rostov Veliky, Sergyiev Posad.
