With its 3,690 kilometers, the Volga is one of the longest rivers in Europe, born on the plateau of the Valdai hills and flows into the Caspian Sea, bathing along its course the cities of Tver, Uglich, Yaroslav, Kostroma Nizhni Novgorad, Kazan , Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan.

The Volga has more than 200 tributaries, including the Oka and Kama. Its immense catchment area of ​​1,360,000 sq km covers one third of the Russian plain. Its average annual capacity is 8,000 cubic meters per second (compared to the 500 cubic meters of the Seine in France).

With the completion of the massive Moscow-Volga Canal in 1937, the capital was finally connected to the great system of waterways running from St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Finland to Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea. Today it is possible to sail along the Volga, thanks to our cruises, from Moscow to Astrakhan, the ancient capital of the Tartars, to the shores of the Caspian Sea.
